There is no pathway to safeguarding nature and biodiversity, feeding 10 billion people and staying within 1.5C without transforming the way we produce, distribute and consume food including managing land and water resources.
This event seeks to highlight the interlinkages between agriculture and nature, showcase examples of action to reduce the impact of agriculture on nature and describe both the pathway and challenges ahead. It will feature two key ecosystems — forests and peatlands — and highlight leading initiatives to protect and restore nature, and manage the impacts of agriculture.
This event is organized by the COP28 Presidency, FOLU, the Systems Change Lab, High
Level Champions and the Global Peatlands Initiative (Michael Succow Foundation + Wetlands
International+ UNEP + FAO) with honoured guests from the government of Brazil.
