FOLU Ethiopia is working with its partners to advance more regenerative, nutrition-sensitive and inclusive agricultural practices within the national Government’s Agricultural Commercialization Clusters initiative (ACC). Our approach emphasizes government ownership and robust evidence from agricultural experts and farmers. FOLU Ethiopia has produced in-depth studies and synthesized evidence of successful regenerative agricultural practices in Ethiopia, and now partners with Farm Radio International to produce a weekly radio program to Increase awareness about sustainable agriculture and highlight its benefits for farmers, consumers and the environment.

Episodes
Episode 1
In episode one, smallholder farmers in Angacha Woreda, Southern Ethiopia, share their perspectives on the benefits and challenges of Cluster farming.
Episode 2
In episode two we hear from farmers and agriculture extension experts on how cluster farming boosts the productivity and food security of smallholder farmers in an organized and cooperative manner. Farmers can access extension services, agricultural mechanizations, markets, training, experiences, and links with agricultural supporting institutions through cluster farming
Episode 3
Episode three discusses the importance of seasonal crop planning which involves planning and scheduling crop cultivation throughout the year. Farmers speak on how scheduling and cultivating crops based on specific seasons and climatic conditions increase productivity and help them reduce loss.
Episode 4
Farmers employ various weed management, such as cultural practices, mechanical cultivation, use of herbicides, mulching, and biological control, to suppress weeds effectively. In episode four agriculture extension experts indicate how Integrated weed management combines multiple practices to reduce the reliance on a single method, promoting sustainability and minimizing environmental harm.
Episode 5
Episode five explores farmer’s experiences of Urea fertilizer application. Experts explain on split application of urea to help grow healthy crops while maintaining the health of the soil.

Episode six talks about Integrated pest management – Crop disease management, covering cultural practices, appropriate agro-chemicals, reduced chemical application, timing, and safety measures, and proper handling of chemicals during application.
