Honoring one of Colombia’s foremost hydrology experts
The Food, Agriculture, Biodiversity, Land-Use, and Energy (FABLE) Consortium is saddened to announce the passing of Efraín Dominguez Calle. Professor Dominguez was the leader of the FABLE Colombia team and was one of Colombia’s foremost experts on hydrology. After receiving his PhD from the Russian State Hydrometeorological University, Dominguez Calle became a professor at Javeriana University in Bogota where he was a highly regarded professor, teaching courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. His work spanned areas such as mathematical modeling of environmental processes, hydrological forecasting, assessment of water resources, uncertainty propagation in hydrological computations, hydro-ecosystem services, and climate change hydrological scenarios. He will be greatly missed by the many people he touched throughout his life, both personally and professionally.
