Regenerating from healing gardens

With the participation of Clementina Barajas, leader of Clementina Orgánicos.

In this episode, we join Clementina Barajas to learn how a barren farm transforms into a paradise of life, with over 150 varieties of plants and some animals, including more than 20 beehives that pollinate the surrounding forest.

Clementina knows plants and soil like no one else. She tells us that when she understood the relationship between our health and what we eat, she chose to cultivate nutritious and healthy food for those looking to regenerate their bodies and nature.

Today, Clementina Orgánicos, more than just a food producer, has become a teaching center for many people and families from rural areas who want to transition to regenerative practices.

Mangroves, roots of regeneration

With the participation of Matilde Mosquera, leader of the ‘Piangüeras’ Women’s Association of Bahía Málaga.

In this episode, we travel to the Colombian Pacific coast to learn how the ancestral knowledge of powerful women is empowering regenerative practices to secure the future of mangrove ecosystems.

There, the Asociación de Mujeres Piangüeras de Bahía Málaga, led by Matilde Mosquera, is fighting for the regeneration of the mangrove ecosystem, which provides the piangüas, a type of mollusk found in the roots of the mangroves.

These mollusks have been a part of the livelihood of families for generations, with the tradition and care passed down from grandmothers to daughters and granddaughters. Examples like the Association’s show us the immense value of the symbiotic relationship between communities and their territories.

Seed keepers that boost regeneration

With the participation of María Velma Echavarría, guardian of seeds.

In the heart of the Eje Cafetero, nestled in the Andes Mountains, lies Caldas, a region rich in indigenous heritage and renowned for coffee cultivation. Amidst this landscape, within the Canamoomo and Lomaprieta Indigenous Resguardo, the Riosucio Seed Guardians Network stands as a beacon of hope and resilience, deeply connected to the land and the vital importance of seeds.

This initiative, led by María Velma, has empowered the preservation and propagation of traditional and native seeds for over 15 years, joining forces with the National Seed Network’s efforts.

For María Velma and her community, the seed represents a profound connection to life and nature. The Seed Guardians Network seeks to inspire a collective consciousness that transcends borders and empowers people to regain control over food systems.
